I have located several Scheidemantles in my search but have not tied them together very well. I have the following: Louis Marburger (1869-1901) married Anna Mary Scheidemantel (1869-1961) and had Anna and Alma Marburger. I need information on her parents and grandparents, etc. I alos need to know anything anyone knows about a male Scheidemantle who married a lady named Lena (possibly Marburger) in the late 1800s. They had 2 kids, Ida and Edward. Lena was also possibly married to Frank Sneathen. They are all buried at Evans City Cemetery. I have lots of Marburgers and Greenawalts in my family, so any information regarding them would be appreciated. Thanks! David Hoffmann
Paula, Thank you so much for all the information. You have no idea what a MAJOR breakthrough this is in my family search. It will take some time to digest all of it. You see I have MOYER'S and SCHEIDEMANTLE's in my Mother's BOYER line also. In fact, I have an ELIZABETH MOYER, daughter of BENJAMIN SECHLER MOYER and MARIA B. BOYER (in my mother's family). I have no date of birth for this ELIZABETH, however, her sister SARAH was born in 1826 so she could be around the same age. Maybe someone will have information on her. I was given several old photographs that belonged to my Grandmother, ALDA (STAUFFER) HILLIARD, daughter of MINNIE IDA SCHULER AND SAMUEL STAUFFER. I looked through those briefly to see what had been written on the back of the photographs. Again, MINNIE'S parents were ELEIZABETH SCHEIDEMENTLE and CONRAD SCHELER/SCHULER. To my surprise I found possible pictures of my great-grandmother's brother and sister JOHN SCHULER and CARRIE SCHULER, possibly a picture of my 2nd great-grandmother ELIZABETH (SCHEIDEMENTLE) SCHULER, and a picture of my great-grandmother MINNIE and her brother JOHN SCHULER at about 8 and 10 years old. Also, I question if ELIZABETH SCHULER had another daughter by the name of EMMA as I found a picture that states GRANDMA SCHULER and daughter EMMA. There is also a picture that states EMMA & MINNIE SCHULER, and another that has EMMA, BERTHA & ERVIN EICHOLTZ. There is another that states CONNIE SCHULER. I will have to look at these more closely. I just can't thank you enough for your help. Kathie

I am looking for anyone connected to ELIZABETH (SCHEIDEMANTLE) SCHULER/SCHELER. I have no record of her birth, but I do know that she married CONRAD SCHELER. The following newspaper article was found in some papers belonging to her granddaughter Alda (Stauffer) Hilliard. The article is not dated. "ZELIENOPLE NONOGENARIAN MRS. ELIZABETH SCHELER, the oldest resident of the Zelienople and Harmony district, today is celebrating her 93rd birthday anniversary at the home of her daughter, Mrs. HENRY STAUFFER, of 340 East Grandview avenue, Zelienople, with whom she has resided since retiring from her farm on the Perry highway some years ago. No formal celebration was planned today, but members of her family expected to visit with MRS. SCHELER and she has received a number of lovely flowers and cards felicitating her on her anniversary. MRS. SCHELER was born in Butler county and has lived in the vicinity of Zelienople her entire life. Her husband, CONRAD SCHELER, died while their children were still quite small and MRS. SCHELER managed their farm and raised her family. She has three daughters, MRS. MOLLIE STAUFFER, with whome she makes her home, MRS. CARRIE MCDANEL of Ellwood City, and MRS. SAMUEL STAUFFER of Zelienople; a son, JOHN SCHELER, of the Perry highway, Harmony, R. D.; 11 granchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild. Although MRS. SCHELER remain in excellent health, her sight is failing and her hearing is not as keen as it used to be. She is a member of St. Peter's Reformed church at Middle Lancaster." I also would like to hear from anyone connected to the above listed MCDANEL. Kathie
