    1. [PABUTLER-L] S.M. Gillespie's Art Studio?
    2. Is anyone familiar with a S. M. Gillespie's Art Studio on West Jefferson St. in the Butler area? I am trying to date an old photograph, probably late 1800s, and wondered when this studio might have been in business. Was there a West Jefferson Street? I am not even positive that is where the picture was taken though I know the family lived in Butler. Thank you for any help. Susan

    3. Shirley, Just recently Claire from the Allegheny County list said to ask for the "entire" marriage file. You could get more information. I've been gathering marriage licenses for 12 years and have never done this myself, but plan to in a couple of cases where I know there was a divorce. Have you checked the 1910 census to see what it says? If you can get a time frame and a probabe county sometimes they can help. They usually have a bride and groom index, so they could check just the groom's index for you. When I first started looking for marriage records, I just wrote to the county they lived and gave them an approximate time frame. If that didn't work, I then started with surrounding counties until I found them. Good luck, Bev in Calif. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shirley Pearce" <spearce@csonline.net> To: <PABUTLER-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, March 14, 2003 10:52 AM Subject: Re: [PABUTLER-L] BEATTY/MILLINGER > How do I go about finding when James M.
