Hello Jason, The only one of George Rider's eight children that might have married a McCandless is Olive B., about whom we know nothing so far. If she died young, say, in her early 30's, while the children were quite small, it would be a reason for the boys to be living with their grandfather. Does anyone have access to the 1890 Census when the boys would have been four and five, under any McCandless?
