John Wimer b. 1787 in VA was the son of Isaac Wimer and Catherine Boston. Abigail Wimer b. 1787 was the daughter of Adam Wimer. Source: In an application that Adam Wimer's children made after his death in 1845 for pension that he served in the Indian Wars as part of the Rev. War it listed all his children. Abagail Wimer listed as wife of John Wimer. Isaac Wimer's will is a treasure to researchers and John is referred to in this. The sad part is we do not know the name of Adam's wife. Now, I have a question, I do not have an Abagail listed as a child of John and Abagail Wimer. I have a Margaret married to Morris Covert, an Elizabeth b. abt. 1820, Jane b. abt. 1822 and John W. Wimer b. abt. 1825 d. 1899. Can you provide the info for Abagail married to Jeremiah Ralston? Thank YOU....Marilyn Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. My Gardners were mostly in Washington Twp and there were other Gardners, with the same first names, in Muddy Creek Twp. Thanks for the refresher info. It should be a big help to anyone researching the Wimers. I haven't worked on my Ralstons for years. I remembered that there were several Isaacs but not why. Since I don't have a proven connection to Isaac Wimer, I don't have him in my file. If I ever find proof that William Wimer's wife was definitely Elizabeth Rohrer, I will be able to add more Wimer info. I do have a Morris Covert, Jr. who married Margaret Wimer, daughter of John and Abigail Wimer. Do you know who John Wimer's parents were? John and Abigail's daughter, Abigail, married Jeremiah C. For those that are interested in the Wimers, there are 3 Wimer families that came into Muddy Creek Twp., Butler Co. in the early 1800s. Christopher, Isaac and Adam, Christopher from eastern PA, the other two from VA. Isaac and Adam may be related that has not been proven. Isaac and Christopher stayed in this part of Butler Co., but Adam when to North Slippery Rock Twp., Mercer Co. which is now Washington Twp., Lawrence Co. Each of these men have a son named Isaac and it sometimes gets very confusing. Adam and Isaac children intermarried and it becomes even more complicated. I know the line you are referring to is of Christopher. My line is through both Adam and Isaac. Marilyn Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. This may not be of any use to anyone, but I'm posting it just in case. Robert Ralston,my ggg-grandfather, died in 1835 in Butler Co. leaving a widow and 5 young children. His widow, Sophia Rohrer Ralston, married Frederick Pisor but died in 1843 along with her new son. "The Golden Threads" by William Weger states that after the death of his mother, Jacob Ralston's uncle, Samuel Rohrer, petitioned the court to appoint a guardian for Sophia and Robert Ralston's children. Isaac Wimer was appointed. It is not known why a Ralston or Rohrer was not appointed guardian for the children or why Isaac Wimer was the choice of the court. However, Sophia's sister, Elizabeth, was married to a Wimer, maybe William. Frederick Pisor's sister, Mary, was married to Isaac Wimer. Information from Lew Kiser, [email protected], stated that Isaac Wimer married Mary Pisor about 1833. They adopted an infant son of Mary's sister, Rebecca Kelley who died in childbirth 8 October 1836. The child was Isaac Eli Kelley. The 1850 census for Slippery Rock Township lists Frederick Piser, 38, with Mary Wimer, 44, and Sarah E. Kelly 13. Isaac Wimer's will of 1845 named his wife, Polly (a nickname for Mary), his sister's son, Isaac Kelly and brother John Wimer as heirs. Frederick Pisor, Jr. was a witness. Mary Wimer's will of 1856 named her brother, Frederick Pisor, and Eli Kelly, Samuel Wimer, Jonathan Wimer and William Wimer as heirs. Frederick and Adam Pisor were executors. Frederick Pisor's will prob! ated in 1859 stated that all his real and personal property should be sold. Ten dollars was left to his brothers Adam and John. The Ralston, Rohrer and Wimer families were definitely intertwined. In my file I have a Michael Heckathorn, born 1800 to Jacob and Elizabeth Heckathorn, married to Mary Rohrer, daughter of Jacob and Margaret Rohrer and sister of Sophia Rohrer who married Robert Ralston.
