I am currently researching Maurice Henry Montgomery born 9/15/1883 and died in 1947. He was married to Elsie B. Speer. I know that he was a policeman for Alameda Park in Butler, PA and I was wondering if anybody might be able to tell me if there might be any photos of the Policemen. He was a policeman there for 11 years and he left in 1940. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Since my fathers surname was BLACK when I saw your subject I was hoping it might be someone from my family. However, since the dates are relatively recent I have no idea. But in reading you surnames you are researching I did notice KELLER, my Great Grandfather Elijah PHILLIPS married Ann KELLER in the mid 1800's in Ohio. She later died in 1873 and Elijah married my Great Grandmother Anna Eliza DOWLING. I know Anna Elizas mothers maiden name from her death certificate, which was Sarah PARKS but only the surname of her father was given. Consequently, that is the furtherest I can go. If you are related in any way to the KELLER family and might know of Elijah and Anns marriage and later who he married the second time I would be most happy to receive information. Maybe I could help you with the PHILLIPS family in return. Keeping my fingers crossed. I'm looking for someone with connection to Henry and Ellen Sowash. I found them while trying to find Zula Nevell Sowash who married John B. Larrimore. I believe that may have found Henry listed in the 1850 census living in the Western Penetentiary of Pa on the charge of burglary. I found Henry and Ellen listed in the 1860 Centerville, Butler County, Pa census with children Peter age 7, Kansas age 5 and Samuel age 2. In 1870 I found them listed with children Harrison age 16, Z.E. age 14 and Samuel age 12. In 1880, still in Centervieville, it appears that the first two children had left the home and only Samuel shows up still living at home at the age of 21. Since we have to skip the 1890 census, in 1900 I find Henry living with son and daughter-in-law Peter H and Mary Sowash and children. I have not yet found a death cert for Henry and in 1910 he is no longer living with Peter so my guess is that he passed between census recordings. Peter and Mary's children were Edward, Clarince, Berd, Margaret, Alice, Syntha, Paul, Annie and Penzy. Henry's wife Ellen passed in 1888, I was able to track down a copy of her will. In it she states, pending Henry being alive or not, that she was leaving certain items and control of the estate to son Peter Harrison Sowash. She also talked about leaving items to daughter Zula Larner and son Samuel Sowash. The 1880 census also listed Zula and husband John as Larner instead of Larrimore. Samuel I have not had a chance to start trying to track down yet. Because of certian things matching up I feel that I have a match between the Will and the family listed in the Butler County census records. I'm wondering if anyone else is researching this family and has found the same info or not, or if they have found more info on Henry.
