Doesn't sound like my gang. Apparently there were plenty of Garvins in Butler Co. (mine spent time in both Jackson & Cranberry Twps.). Think my Mary may be the daughter of Nancy Ziegler Musselman and just found out today (from the Harmony Museum site) that they have a new CD and chart on the Abraham Ziegler family. Will be in Butler Co. in just a few weeks and plan to visit and buy the CD. Last time I was in the area was Sept. 2004 and everything was flooded!!! PUHLEEZ ... all you nice folks in Butler get out there and do a sundance!!!! Inspite of going somewhat bonkers looking thru burial records for Mennonite Cemetery in Harmony and also the census, I think (????) I might have found a family connection. My gr-gr-gmother was Mary Ann Musselman and I'm pretty sure she was born in Harmony. Have found a Reuben and Ann N.(Nancy) in 1860 census in Harmony with a daughter, Mary, age 9. That would make her about the right age to have married my gr-gr-gfather, James Richard Garvin. It appears Reuben & wife (who goes by 'Nancy' in every census except 1860) moved from New Brighton, Beaver Co., some time between 1850 & 1860. The 1870 census shows Nancy as a widow, so Reuben must have died between 1860 and 1870. Find both of them in Menn.Cem. , Reuben 1816-1867 and Nancy 1818-1893. Nancy's headstone says she was dau. of Abraham Ziegler, Jr. Am wondering if there is anyone on the list who might be researching either the Musselman or Ziegler families that can confirm any of the above or shed any light at all on these families. I plan to visit the area in a couple of weeks and, also, will be giving the library some info on the cemetery which I was able to obtain from the Harmony Museum.
