    3. Probably most everyone knows about inter library loan? But, in case, here's how it is working around here: First of all, find reference to the books you want. Of course there are many ways to do this, such as the bibliographies in other print that you run into, items on pabucks, the on line catalog of the Mormans Family Search (which as you may know, will send out films to local Morman libraries). Go to Google Books, put in a name, and it will take you to many books that contain that name, with a little bit about it. Then you can decide what books you might want to borrow. (Occasionally, the entire book is found on line, as has been noted - it has to be out of copyright ie published over 72 years ago? (100?) THEN, search your local library catalog - probably not there. THEN see if there is a "virtual" catalog. This is on line. Via our local library, we can search for the desired book/books not only in area libraries but all over the state (Massachusettts). If found it can be ordered and delivered to local library. If not found, your local library system can launch a national search. I have had books from library of Congress, an old 1838 volume from somewhere, books from many colleges etc. If they report where a book is but cannot be sent out, ask that search be made IN that book for pages that contain the name you are interested in, and they will send copies of those pages. After you get your book, be sure to consult the bibliography in that book for OTHER books to order. And be sure to thank everybody! Jane
