I just found out that my g-g-g-g-grandfather, John Phillip Hettinger, was the son of Jacob Hettinger (b. abt. 1780) and Eva Mokle. I think Jacob was the son of Henry Hettinger and Margaret Smith, but I'm not sure. John Phillip married Catherine Smith, and moved to Michigan.
