NIKKI I took your advice and visited your Memorial Day page, it is terrific and I highly recommend everyone to look it over. It is one of the very best I have ever seen very well done. I am particularly interested in the section The War of 1812. In compiling your page did you happen to come across the name JOHN STRAIN ? JOHN STRAIN was my grgr grandfather who was given a medal by Captain Thomas Macdonough at the Battle of Lake Champlain / Battle of Plattsburg. The medal was inscribed Plattsburg September 11, 1814 to JOHN STRAIN "boy".
