I have a Samuel Smith, who was reportedly born in Washington (probably County) PA abt. 1800, give or take. However, it is quite likely that his family was in the Wrightstown area of Bucks County for many generations prior to that. It is also likely that the family moved away because of their participation in the Rev War. Samuel's wife, Amanda Sterling and her family (who helped him raise his children after his wife's death), moved directly from Bucks County to Lucas County in western Ohio, where there were many other families from Bucks. He later moved to western Ohio and was for a time in Indiana, as well.
