Stephenson and wife Mary Reed of Bucks County, PA They were parents of James W. Stephenson, later of Virginia and Martinsburg, WVA and Benjamin Stephenson later of Martinsburg,Berkley County, WVA. Family left Buck's County for Virginia around 1790. This area later became WVA. James W. Stephenson, Jr. became congressman for Virginia and Benjamin came to the Illinois Territory in 1809.
