    1. [PABUCKS-L] Amos Clauson Reed - Gemima Kennard
    2. Amos Clauson Reed, born 1737 England, died 7 Jan 1834 Belmont County, Ohio. married Gemima Kennard, born 1746 Bucks County, Pennsylvania, died 12 Feb 1840 Belmont County, Ohio. Children: John, Jane, Gemima, and Rachel. Most of the cousins I have found are looking for Amos' parents in New Jersey, where he joined the colonial army; however, according to Amos and Gemima's grandson, Moses John Reed, Amos came over as a british soldier, at the beginning of the Revolutionary War, deserted upon arriving at Boston Harbor. Records show he joined the Colonial Army, on the NJ line in 1776. According to what few records I could find, Amos had worked as a shoemaker for his then future brother-in-law John Kennard, for three years before joining the colonial army, which would estimate his arrival in Boston Harbor around 1773. Gemima, was the daughter of James Kennard and Alice Jolly. Some sources state that Alice was the daugter of James Jolly and Letitia Nelson. Other sources say Letitia Nelson only had one husband, and it wasn't James Jolly; however, according to my cousin, my paternal grandmother only had one husband also, and it wasn't my grandfather. Looking for information and confirmation on Amos Clauson Reed and Gemima Kennard. While I do know the Kennards were Dutch, i know little else about them. Though I have quite a lot about the descendents of Amos and Gemima.
