    3. Thanks Sharon Smith : I have seen the date reference for the Durham Iron Company on that website before but it only seems to have the dates. The Durham Iron Company actually mined the ore from the hillside near the 611-212 intersection. They forged the crude "pigs" from the Blast furnace at forges along the Muskinetcong NJ as well as several forges near the furnace along Cooks Creek PA . The barges took the "pigs" across the Delaware River mostly to the RR on the NJ side or, before the RR, down the river in "Durham Boats" to Bristol and Philadelphia.
