RootsWeb.com Mailing Lists

    1. Re: [PABUCKS-L] Ancestry trial memberships
    2. I have memberships in both Ancestry.com and Genealogy.com and like them both. Each has unique collections and services that I access constantly -- at least on a daily basis. However, I do like the Ancestry.com census records much, much better. Much faster to load, easier to scan page by page for an entire township or by name in the index. OTOH, Ancestry.com now offers "wildcard" searching, which you cannot do at Genealogy.com. However .... it is now necessary because of money constraints for me to cancel both memberships. I had no problem getting through to both of the 800 numbers during regular business hours. And they were both very courteous, understanding and helpful. One even advised me to call back on a certain day to cancel because, he said, I had already paid for the month, and he wanted me to get full use of it before I have to cancel. Both of these companies still have extensive free services available to me. Rootsweb, the sponsors of these wonderful mailing lists, is the best, but Genealogy.com's family forums come close. Also, the L.D.S. site, Familysearch.org has some other unique things that are very helpful. Priscilla
