Although I haven't found any relatives in Pennsylvania for Henry Roberts, his wife Mary Paxson was the daughter of Henry Paxson and wife Ann Plumly of Solebury twp., a family well documented in various places. I have been trying to trace the descendants of Henry & Mary, but it seems to me that most of them must have left Bucks Co. For the most part, their association with the Quaker community was somewhat loose, and records exist, but are spotty. Henry and Mary Roberts had 7 children, all mentioned in the wills of both Henry (dat. 1761) and Mary (dat. 1785): Richard 1730-1801 m. Mercy Betts, moved to Frederick Co. MD William 1732-1812 m. Grace Hambleton, stayed in Solebury twp. Henry 1733?-? Mary m. --- Williams (maybe Nathan Williams??) Jane m. Matthew Beans Margery m. --- Ryley Thomas I have only found a clear trace of son William, who stayed in Solebury twp. Some descendants of Richard have been traced: from Frederick Co. MD some moved on to Knox Co. OH and then further west. I suspect that daughter Jane may have moved to the area of Fairfax Co. VA. Does anyone know what became of any of these children? My line is from William Roberts who married Grace Hambleton, who was demonstrably the youngest daughter of James and Mary (Beaks) Hambleton, also of Solebury twp. William & Grace had 9 children, as shown by William's will (dat. 1812), but again, I've lost track of most of them, except for the youngest sons William and John, who both continued in Solebury. My family is that descended from Warner Peters Roberts, the son of the aforementioned John Roberts. Warner was born in Solebury twp., and died in Bedminster twp.; He and his wife Christiana (nee Schissler) are buried in the Plumsteadville Cemetery. Warner and Christiana had 6 sons and 3 daughters, who soon produced a large and growing family. For more than 100 years, the descendants of Warner P. Roberts have been holding regular family reunions in the Bucks Co. area. We hope soon to be able to post a complete genealogy of this family on the Internet. So if you have any information or any leads on any of these folks, we would be very grateful to hear from you.
