    3. Hi Linda, You are correct: Margery Paxson (dau. of Henry and Ann [Plumly] Paxson and sister of Mary Paxson who married Henry Roberts) married Matthew Beans. I suppose what caught your attention was the fact that I said that Jane Roberts (dau. of Henry and Mary [Paxson] Roberts married Matthew Beans). This is also true, but it is a different Matthew Beans, in fact the son of Timothy and Rebecca (Paxson) Beans. The latter Rebecca Paxson was another sister of Margery Paxson Beans and Mary Paxson Roberts. The source of my information claiming that Jane Roberts married Matthew Beans comes from the Orphans Court records of Bucks Co., concerning the settlement of the estate of Mary Paxson Roberts, Jane's mother. On 10 June 1782 we find the account of Anthony Hartley, executor of Mary Roberts' estate. The line items that establish Jane's marriage are copied below: paid Jane Beanes sundry cloath given by will £ 3-4-2½ paid Mathew Beanes, legacy left his wife by her father -10-0 paid do. his wife's dividend of residue of her mother's estate 3-0-0 When I saw the name Matthew Beans, I also was confused, but I found that there was another Matthew Beans of Jane's generation, namely the son of Timothy and Rebecca. So I hypothesized that this might have been Jane's husband, and since those Beanses moved to Virginia, it would explain why I found no more trace of Jane in Bucks Co. Just tonight I think I have the proof that this identification is correct. I made a quick check on WorldConnect databases, and I found one by Dave Wells which includes Matthew Beans, son of Timothy and Rebecca (Paxson). He is reported to have married Jane --- and moved to Loudoun Co. VA. I quote also the notes that Dave Wells includes: "Matthew was disowned by Falls Monthly Meeting (Quaker) on 3 April 1769 because of his marriage to his Cousin. He was disowned from Falls Monthly Meeting again on 3 June 1782 at which time or soon thereafter he went to Virginia for there is an indenture of his with an Isaiah Meyers for property dated 1 March 1796 in VA Deed Book "W"." I hadn't thought to check the minutes of the Falls meeting for relevant information, since the Beans, Paxsons, and Roberts all lived in Solebury within the range of the Buckingham Meeting. But if you have followed my explanation, you will see that in fact Matthew Beans Jr. was the first cousin of Jane Roberts (their mothers Rebecca and Mary were Paxson sisters). So I think we have now established with certainty the spouse of Matthew Beans Jr. and also of Jane Roberts!
