    3. I have seen all the discussion about the surname Paxson and I kept thinking a line of mine I had seen it mentioned. I have a book down about my ancesters and she used a plat map of land owners. Warren S. Eley's name appears, Doylestown, PA. The story as I have heard it...... My ancester George Pownall purchase surveyed 1681 George Pownall Sr. was killed before his son Geroge Jr. was born. Elinor Pownall m. Joshua Hoopes again under the care of Philadelphia Monthly Meeting 1683. In 1719 George Jr. settled in Solebury Twp., Bucks Co., where he purchased from his brother Reuben, a tract of 484 acres, on the north extending to the Delaware River, to his nephew, Reuben Paxson. George m. Hannah Hutchinson 1707 in Falls Meeting House, Bucks Co. PA and according to this book Hannah died 1788 Bucks Co. PA. Abigail Pownall m. William Paxton 1695 Middletown Monthly Meeting House, Bucks Co. PA. She is a sister to George Jr. Pownall. I haven't been to PA since I began researching and I have only documented this info from Grace & Richard Durig's book or other researchers.. I have gotten really interested in Buck's County of late. I would be interested in anyone's opinion or suggestions. Tootsie Shoemaker Pownall/Pownell was my grandmother's maiden name Lord, keep your arm around my shoulder and Your hand over my mouth.
