    1. [PABUCKS] History of Bucks Co., PA book - GIRTON - Lookup Please
    2. Does anyone have either the 1st or 2nd editions of the History of Bucks Co., PA. I am researching my Joseph H(?) GIRTON. I know he was born about 1813 in PA from late 1800's census records, but he had all his children in Stephenson Co., IL and then moved the whole family to Page Co., IA where they lived out their lives. He married someone named Mary _____ who was almost 20 years younger than him. I have no marriage date. They didn't have their first child until he was 44. His 5 children were, Julia Elizabeth, Sarah Amanda, Thomas L.E., Lydia C. and Catherine. I have never been able to find who his parents are and recently found out that the History of Bucks Co., PA includes bios on a Girton. I would like to find out if anyone who has that book might look up the GIRTON in there and let me know their names/dates and other info so I can again have a lead to follow up on to locate more info on my Joseph. I thank anyone in advance for their help! Valerie in KS

    3. Valerie; I have "A Genealogical & Personal History of Bucks Co., PA" by WWH Davis on a CD. Not sure if it is his first or second book; but it is all biographical sketches of families. I checked the index and there are 28 Girton's listed and unfortunately there is no Joseph included in the book. Just because there were 28 listings mentioned does not mean there were 28 sketches of Girton's. Many would have been mentioned because they married into other families that were being sketched. Sorry there doesn't seem to be any help there; however, there is a sketch of Garrett B. Girton who was about 75 at the writing which, I believe was about 1890. It states that his ancestors had been residents of N. J. for several generations. I cannot e-mail from the CD; but if you are interested in seeing this bio, I can print it out and send it to you through snail mail, if you send me that address. Marion Kane
