Not only was Edward Bushrod Johnson raised in the Episcopal Church, but his bride, Caroline Haddonfield had a daughter (Josephine Elizabeth) a year before this marriage. By the family oral history, Josephine's father was either a Hellings or Hellinger. That's why I asked about the entry of "Caroline Haddonfield" (her maiden name) on the marriage registration.
