    2. Clifford Y. Benner Published 8/7/01 Clifford Y. Benner, of Hilltown Twp., died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, at his home. He was 72. He was the husband of Marie (Diehl) Benner. The couple had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 9, 2001. Born in Hilltown Twp., he was the son of the late Henry H. and Leah (Yoder) Benner. Mr. Benner was employed as a voting machine technician for the County of Bucks until retiring in 1994. Prior to that, he worked for Lansdale Transportation for 20 years. He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Telford, where he served on the church council and was an usher for many years. An avid gardener, Mr. Benner loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports and spending time with his family. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1951 to 1956. Surviving with his wife are four sons, Wayne Benner and his wife, Deborah of Perkasie, Douglas S. Benner of Hilltown, Steven T. Benner and his wife, Sheila of Sellersville and Larry D. Benner and his wife, Julie of Quakertown; one very special granddaughter, Leah Benner; four brothers, LeRoy Y. Benner and his wife, Norma of Telford, Howard Y. Benner and his wife, Pearl of Telford, Roland Y. Benner and his wife, Gladys of Telford and Richard Y. Benner and his wife, Ida of Canton, Pa.; and five sisters, Irene Haas of Souderton, Ruth Crouthamel and her husband, Ralph of Telford, Evelyn Alderfer and her husband, Claude of Sellersville, Marie Arnaudo and her husband, Louie of Sacramento, Calif. and Helen Sensinger and her husband, Truman of Perkasie. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Norman, Robert and Wilmer Benner; and two sisters, Esther Williams and Naomi Benner. Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2001 in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Main Street and Lincoln Avenue, Telford. Interment will be in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, Telford. Friends may call Thursday evening from 7 to 9 at the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch St., Perkasie or Friday morning from 10 to 11 at the church.
