The Adams County Historical Society has announced its plan to open on Friday 26 October 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. This is in addition to their regular days of Wednesday and Saturday. Anyone wishing to do research may do so without reservations. We charge a modest $5 research donation for non-members. Tours through the museum will be available at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Group rates are available upon request. A tour of the area can be arranged. For the tour reservations would be necessary. Among the four programs we have scheduled for this fall three of them are geared to the Civil War. On 29 August Elwood Christ will offer "Researching Real Estate History in Adams County." On 5 Sept. Timothy Smith will offer "How to Find Your Civil War Ancestor." On 3 Nov. Timothy Smith will also offer "Jubal Early's Raid into Adams County".
