In this case, the info., I have is not much, but it may give you a clue. Great-grandfather, William Strunk, a native of Germany, emigrated to America. Grandfather, Henry Strunk, settled in Northampton County, he married Elizabeth Ace, they moved to Monroe County, in 1798, settling on the Delaware River in Smithfield township. They had 7 children; 1. Madeline, who married Jacob Olenbaugh, they moved to Ohio and they had 2 children; 2. George married a _______Mann, he died leaving 5 children; 3. Elizabeth married Henry Consterman; 4. Jacob married Jane Merlin, they moved to Northampton County; 5. Henry married Rachael Transue, they lived in Smithfield township; 6. Kate married George Ace of Smithfield twp, he died from an accident, (his arm was torn off by a threshing machine); 7. Peter; 7. Peter Strunk was born in Northampton County, in 1772. He married Betsy Cooper, born 1772, d/o John and Polly (Grove) Strunk. In 1798 he came with his father to Monroe County, later he moved to Wayne County, Betsy (Cooper) Strunk died Feb. 1832, he later married a ________Canadey. Peter died in 1866. Peter and Betsy had 12 children; 1. Jacob who married Nellie Biles, they lived in Bradford County; 2. Polly who married Phillip "Noack" of Smithfield twp., their children, ( Matilda who married Fred Transue of Smithfield, and Wash Noack, of Monroe County); 3. Peter who died in childhood; 4. John C.; 5. George, died as a boy; 6. Betsy who married James Hanna of Mt. Home; 7. Eleanor who married Leonard Courtright of Middle Smithfield and died leaving a large family; 8. Henry married Elizabeth Transue, settled in Smithfield twp., drowned while rafting, he left 2 children, (John, died in the Civil war, and Jane); 9. Katie, died as a child; 10. Julia who married Adam Boget and they lived in Monroe County; 11. Benjamin, married Caroline Yetter; 12. Lucinda, married Samuel Cortright of Smithfield and died leaving 4 children. 4. John C. Strunk, was born in Middle Smithfield, in 1806, he married Eleanor Hanna (died 1866), the d/o Benjamin and Hannah (Tock) Hanna in 1826. They had 10 children; 1. Benjamin H., who married Rachael Transue, they lived at Tobyhanna Mills; 2. Elizabeth, married William Miller of Smithfield; 3. Hanna, wife of Charles Albert of Middle Smithfield; 4, Eleanor, died as a child; 5. Mary, who married Andrew J. Fish; 6. Sara, married John Van Why of E. Stroudsburg; 7. Peter, who married Sarah J. Kramer, and had a family of 15 children; 8. Moses C.; 9. James S., married Maggie Coleman and had a family of 7, lived in Lackawanna County; 8. John C. who died in childhood, and 2 unnamed. 8. Moses C. Strunk, born April, 1842, married April, 1867 to Maggie Triebel, d/o Peter and Mary (Quigly). They had 13 children; 1/ Samuel, born 1870, married Nancy Van Why and had 2 children, Clara and Maggie; 2/ Laura, born 1874, married Philip Fish, of Resca and had 3 children, Peter, Hanna, and Moses. 3/ John C., who married Hannah Albert; 4/ Mary E., born in 1879, is the wife of Walter S. Howe, lived at Branchville, NJ; 5/ Lizzie; 6/ Moses born in 1884; 7/ Violet born 1886; 8/ Burson, in 1888; 9/ Alonzo born 1890; 10/ Ruth, in 1892; 11/ Naomi, in 1894. Members of the Methodist Church.
