Hello, I have seen some posts regarding the Tomlinsons lately, and wanted to share what little I have, in hopes to help you out, but also if you see anything that fits in with your line, I would love to hear from you. Again, this is really all I have on this line, as it comes directly from a Carver/Tomlinson family reunion from June 1961. If you are interested in the Carver side of it, I have that as well, just let me know. Don Malone, I saw your post, which really has me interested as you mentioned my actual ancestors. I would appreciate any information you can send my way. As you can see, most of what I have is just on my directly line, no siblings, etc. except for two couples. TOMLINSON ANCESTRY Thomas TOMLINSON fought against Charles I in England and was one of the officers who conducted him to the scaffold. His widow, Elizabeth came to this country in the late 1600s after the death of her husband. Thomas and Elizabeth TOMLINSON were married July 4, 1672. She died on September 12, 1700 and is buried at Falls Meeting, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. They had four (4) sons; Richard, Joseph, Henry, and Thomas, Jr. He married Joan WALMSLEY at Byberry on December 28, 1719. They first lived on a farm back of Edge Hill, but later sold the property and purchased a large farm in Bensalem Township where they resided until their deaths. ORIGINAL LINEAGE Thomas TOMLINSON, married Elizabeth (last name unknown) on July 4, 1672. Son Thomas TOMLINSON, Jr. (B-1688; D-1764) married Joan WALMSLEY (B-1702; D-1772) on December 28, 1719. She was the daughter of Henry and Mary Searle Walmsley. Son Joseph TOMLINSON (B-December 13, 1724; D-1793) married Elizabeth WORTHINGTON (B-March 15, 1721; D-1761) in the year 1740 or 1744. Son Thomas TOMLINSON (B-April 21, 1747) married Phoebe CARVER (B-1755) in 1775. Son John TOMLINSON (D-April 5, 1846) married Martha WORTHINGTON, daughter of Sarah and Benjamin WORTHINGTON. Son Stephen TOMLINSON (B-June 22, 1830; D-May 11, 1875) married Rebecca Jane CARVER (B-March 19, 1837; D-April 18, 1915) on November 21, 1855. Rebecca Jane CARVER being the daughter of Levi and Harriet Cosner CARVER. CHILDREN OF STEPHEN AND REBECCA JANE CARVER TOMLINSON Harriet L. Born July 21, 1856, Died October 24, 1918 married John WEITZEL. Martha M. Born February 16, 1858, Died August 25, 1940 married William HIBBS. Wilmer Levi Born October 14, 1859, Died December 29, 1922 married (1) Jennie OWENS, (2) Caroline (Carrie) H. BEANS (B-Nov. 2, 1872; D-April 29, 1923) in July 1895. Caroline was the daughter of Silas (the Honorable Silas H. Beans) and Mary Livesey BEANS Mary Emely, Born October 2, 1861, Died June 28, 1932 married Landrum LARUE. John E. Born December 25, 1863, Died October 2, 1943 married Elizabeth FITE. Lucy Eveline Born February 12, 1866, Died November 1, 1937 married John V. RANDALL. Ida Belle Born April 2, 1868, Died November 3, 1958 married Charles CROSLEY. Herbert Born June 16, 1870, Died August 8, 1898 not married.
