this is what the booklet says, "the following are the private marriages by the Rt. Rev william White of Philadelphia. He was the Episcopal bishop of North America beginning in 1786 and served as the Rector of Christ Church from 1778 until his death in 1836 These records were abstracted from the Archives of Christ Protestant Episcopal Church in Philadelphia. Most of these marriages are included amng the general marriage records of Christ church and St. Peter's Church. However some are previously unpublished and many were originally transcribedc incorrectly." This booklet was published in 1986 and pretty much been setting on my self since then as there are no connections for me in it. beckybea@juno.com -- "Hal McCawley" <halmac@cox.net> wrote: What area did Bishop White... cover? Bravo....I skim or read everything and anything that might be of interest (which can be quite fun and sometimes very useful to my ongoing ancestry research in Bucks Co.) and just delete the rest. Sometimes it can be overwhelming, but if a tidbit of information helps someone and makes a huge difference...it's worth it. Keep digging Linda...and may all of us just carry on.....I love this forum! As the manager of the Van Horne mail list, message board and the Van Horne yDNA Project (any spelling of Van Horne), I can state with about 99 and 44/100% certainty that Van Horns found in Bucks County are very likely the descendants of Christian Barentsen. The best source on Christian Barentsen, is The American Genealogist article, which begins in Vol. 43, ends in Vol 45, and has an addendum in Vol 47. There is a separate atricle on Jannetje Jans Van Buskirk, his wife, in Vol 38. The Van Horne yDNA project has three Christian Barentsen descendants who have already been tested, establishing his genetic pedigree. If you are a male Van Horn / Van Horne descendant, you immigrant ancestor can very likely be comfirmed or identified by participating in the project. Please write me privately if you have any questions: msvnhrn@jps.net. Marleen Van Horne

Hello enthusiastic listers! Gordon put it quite nicely I thought and prefaced with a polite request for no one to feel insulted. It's totally appropriate for generous people like Becky to offer to do look-ups, and that is not an issue. There seemed to be some confusion as to Gordon's motive, so I thought maybe I could offer my view. As an example of what Gordon is asking, yesterday I responded to Becky, but through a private email to her, asking if there were any BOYDS. She very kindly responded to my private email. I responded and thanked her. No one had to go through the process of opening each email of that conversation just to determine whether it might apply to them or someone they know. It has been a relatively rough several days, what with the innocent glitch that occurred, responses that it incurred, and the now multiple emails of enthusiastic responses to Beckys kind offer. There are some that should be broadcast emails, like Becky's, and then there are some there don't need to be. On the other hand, we enjoy personal rapport on the list and that is always welcome addition to the context of any post about genealogy. I am a member of eight lists, and this type of reminder goes out occasionally on each of them, usually when someone has been away or had computer problems. It can be a big issue when people have email problems and can't open theirs for two weeks or so. Can you imagine? I have no idea whether I'm succeeding at being helpful or not, so if not, please pardon me if you will. Again, thank you Becky for your very kind offer!
