Posted on: Bucks Co. Pa Query Form Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Pa/Bucks/14682 Surname: Wismer, Souder, Overholt, Oberholtzer ------------------------- Hello Thera, Regarding Nanny, wife of immigrant Jacob Wismer (1684-1787). Thank you for your comments. I remember corresponding with Barbara Ford prior to her publishing the book on Oberholtzers. She was aware of John L. Overholt's publication regarding Nanny's maiden name possibly being Oberholtzer. She noted that she knew of no original records proving that it being Overholt/Oberholtzer or Souder. The search continues. Wishing you the best in your searches, Bob Wismer

Maybe someone reading this will have the answer.... Thera

This was found on ebay under FRAKTUR and someone on the Bucks County or Northampton County list may be interested: It is www.ebay.com item number 1424347701. I am not the seller or affiliated with ebay. "This hand done artwork celibrates the mariage of Charles Mumbauer"mit" Elizabeth L Marler by the Rev. Samuel Hess in 1844. The work was commisioned by the husband and wife in 1886 to be included in their family bible by the schrivner August Bauman. Delicate kissing doves are framed by portraits of the couple and two of their children. Absolutely incredible artwork and shading along with textbook caligraphy highlight this Pa. German collectable. Interestingly enough, I am unable to find August Bauman listed in any of my literature on Pa Frakturs, Tauftshiens or schrivners, and he may have been a transient artist passing through the area at the time, but the artwork is first class none the less! I am selling the entire bible (rough) and it contains other recordings by Bauman of births and deaths in the Mumbauer family. My reserve is our cost. A great affordable collectable, this would look terrific in a period frame. Ask questions if you have them, bid with confidence (this i! s a good one) and good luck!" Susan

Posted on: Bucks Co. Pa Query Form Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Pa/Bucks/14678 Surname: Reiter ------------------------- Can anyone give me details about the Rev D. H. Reiter (the H might stand for Henry). He was a Lutheran minister in the Quakertown Area during the years of 1880 to 1910. I have seen his name numerous times in the Trumbauersville Christ Lutheran Records and I would imagine he might have been connected with the St John's Lutheran Church in Richlandtown (which I believe is also known as the Flatland Church). I am interested in his parents, who he married and whether he had any children and any other information that can be supplied. I am a GGGgrandson of Samuel Reiter of Milford Twp and suspect that somehow I am connected to Rev Reiter. Thanks for any help that can be provided.

Greetings, All, KENTNERs are my main PABUCKS family being researched. George & wife arrived in Philadelphia on board the "King of Prussia' in Oct 1764. Were indentured to Joseph Galloway for 2 1/4 years. They appeared again in Wilkes-Barre in 1771; Tunkhannock in 1774 and Sheshequin in 1777. George was with Butler at Fort Stanwix/Oriskany and later in the British regiment "King's Royal Regiment of New York" and after the Revolution settled in Eastern Ontario. I sure would like to find any data which wouild fill in any of the blanks between 1764 & 1780. Don

I have contact Tioga Point Museum, and they have been very helpful. The description of Athens, Pennsylvania fits the information which had been given to me. It looks as though, my James GRAHAM was probably born in Bucks County, Pennsylvania in 1749, moved to New Jersey and New York for training. Lived in Northampton County, Pennsylvania until he went into the Revolutionary War. Afterwards, he would have moved to Athens, Bradford County, Pennsylvania. In 1810, he and most of the family moved to Canada where they waited until the end of the War of 1812. They moved into the Detroit, Michigan area, where the soon set out for Oakland County, Michigan where he is considered to be the founder of Rochester, Michigan.
