Pa Query Form Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Pa/Bucks/14819 Surname: George, Weaver, Marshall ------------------------- Linda, My relative is Hannah Weaver George. Her parents are John Weaver and Elizabeth McCalla (McCauley I'm not sure of the spelling). Elizabeth McCall is the daughter of William McCalla and Naomi Marshall. Naomi is the duaghter of Edward Marshall and his first wife Elizabeth Oberfeldt. Hannah Weaver married Jacob George who is a son of Jacob George and Eve ? Your Hannah George Titus maybe a sister of counsin of my Jacob George. Hannah Weaver George and Jacob George had a daughter named Eva who was born around 1820. I don't know a birthdate for Hannah, but Jacob was born around 1783. Jacob died in 1831 perhaps Hannah remarried your Titus relative of course I'm only guessing on that. Let me know how that fits with your records. Lynn

    2. Yes there is a cemetery at the New Britain Baptist Church, it is quite old, the Beulah Cemetery is down the road from the church. I think the church are the owners of Beulah when the one on the church property was filled. I do not know if they have cemetery books. The church is at rt 202[Butler Ave], and Almshouse Rd. Beulah Cemetery is on Almshouse Rd. I live around the corner from Church, will try to see if they have a book. June Bair mamabear4@aol.com

I am a Slack descendant. I also hope to see Slack Island nearby. I will be traveling by car, expect to be in the area on Friday. Does anyone know the exact location? Thanks! Dave from Seattle

    1. [PABUCKS-L] McCarty/McCarthy in Bucks county PA
    2. source: The McCarthys in Early American History BY: Michael J. O'Brien 1921 Bucks County seems to have attracted many of the Irish immigrants arriving via the Delaware River during the first quarter of the eighteenth century, and in the early records of that section of the State their names are found in goodly numbers. At a place called Haycock Run about twelve miles north of Doylestown, the County seat of Bucks County, there were a number of McCartys, evidently relatives, who came from Ireland between the years 1730 and 1737, and some of their descendants are since mentioned among the conspicuous families of the County. The earliest reference to a person of the name in this region is in the New Jersey Archives under date of October 25, 1733, when a marriage license was issued in New Jersey to "Daniel McCarty of Bucks County and Olive Titus." The place where the license was issued is not stated in the Archives, but in all probability it was in Warren County, directly across the Delaware River from Bucks. By a deed dated March 11, 1737 Thomas and Richard Penn, for a consideration of 38 pounds and "a yearly rental of one-half penny per acre," conveyed 250 acres of land in Nockamixon Township, Bucks County, to Edward McCarty, and in describing the boundaries of the tract the deed mentions "the lands of John Durham and Thomas McCarty," which indicates that the latter was already a settler in this place. There is another deed on record in Bucks County covering a second tract of 250 acres, sold by the Penns to Edward McCarty on April 19, 1738, and in the same record there is a deed dated March 3, 1738, from Thomas and Richard Penn to Silas McCarthy for 215 acres in Nockamixon Township, and the tax lists show that he and his son, Carroll McCarthy, settled on these lands. Silas McCarthy is mentioned five times down to 1749 in the Pennsylvania Archives among "Warrantees of Land in Bucks County."

As you probably already know, St. John The Baptism church was also served in the early years by the St. Paul Catholic mission then Goshenhoppen Pa., now Balley Pa. and BARBARA BRADY O'KEEFE was kind enough to put the Goshenhoppen records on a web site. And HOENIG, HÖNIG are there, here are the URL's http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~reinsel/okeefe/goshb.html and http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~reinsel/okeefe/goshm.html She also has put up a number of other Pa. Magdalena died on 9 Jun 1825; she was 66. Buried ca 13 Jun 1825 in Tohicken Union Cem., Bucks Co., Pa. Magdalena married John Emanuel SOLLIDAY, son of Frederick SOLLIDAY (ca1717-1804) & Maria Barbara WEISEL (ca1726-). Born on 1 Oct 1752. John Emanuel died on 6 Jun 1833; he was 80. Buried ca 10 Jun 1833 in Tohicken Union Cem., Bucks Co., Pa. They had the following children: i. Elizabeth3 ii. Suzanna2 iii. Catharine2 iv. Barbara2 v. Daniel vi. Margaret2 vii. John (1793-1868) HEANY--John Heany/Hoenig was married twice His first wife was Anna Worman. Her father's estate settlement indicates that she died around 1757 (i.e. before Magdalena was born). By 1766 according to Tohickon Reformed records, John was married to Catharine _______, who was born Mar 19, 1740. John had a number of children born between 1758 and 1766 (no mention of Heany's at Tohickon during this period). Since Catharine was old enough to have had children starting in 1758, I have assumed that she was the mother of those children. However, I don't believe I have definitive proof of this. On the other hand, I've not seen any records to indicate that John was married to a third woman, let alone one named Magdalena. If you have some source on this, I'd be interested in known (since Emanuel/Magdalena is also my line so I'd like to make sure I have this correct). 1 John NICHOLAS to Benjamin Ott, weaver. 18 Dec. 1778...613/4 acres... Whereas Thomas and Richard Penn granted John Graham a tract of 400 22 May 1764 and John Graham in 1764 conveyed to John Heaney a tract of 94 acres 107 perches...and John Heaney conveyed a part of his tract containing 613/4 acres to Peter Ott 7 Mar. 1769 and Peter Ott conveyed to the same to Valentine NICHOLAS 27 Nov. 1772 and Valentine NICHOLAS conveyed the same to his son John 10 Dec. 1778. John NICHOLAS then conveyed the same to Benjamin Ott for 300 pounds. ______________________________ 1 Sources 1. Tom Myers 2. Tom Myers, Solliday/Salladé Family of Bucks County, PA, Ralph H.
