Hi, Warren. I had a very good experience at the Spruance Library, which is within the Mercer Museum in Doylestown. See http://www.mercermuseum.org/spruancelibrary/sl_visit.htm for more information. You have to pay the admission charge for the museum to get into the library, but it was worth it to me. The librarians are very helpful. Best wishes, Lynne Warren Lambing wrote: > Hello Everyone > Does anyone have an index I can go to find information on a Civil War > unit? Hello list members, I am attempting to find information on my 4th great-grandfather, John Burns. John was born about 1780, but I am uncertain as to where. His wifes name was Elizabeth. I have no maiden name but possibilities may be Davis, Thompson, or Wilson. They had at leat three children born in Bucks County. One near or in Mauch Chunk and one in Newtown. John may have had a relitive by the name of Jesse Burns. Jesse was in Middletown township and Newton township. Not sure but what this may hve been Newtown. Would surely like to hear from anyone researching Burns'es from this county. Thank you, John Burns McKean County, Pa.

There was mention this past week about tax records for the county I just thought I'd let everyone know that they are slowing being put on the PaGenWeb site for Bucks Co. at http://www.rootsweb.com/~pabucks/ click on records online on the main page and then tax records. We have almost all of 1779 online. If anyone would be interested in volunteering we can always use the help. Also please if you are changing isp, no longer researching a name please let me know so I can update your information on the surname page. I'd had several people contact me saying they have try to get in touch with someone under a perticular surname but the address is bouncing. Thanks Judy Bucks Co PaGenWeb coordinator and PABUCKS mailing list manager ===== Bucks Co.
