>Does anyone know if Prospectville was once in Bucks Co? Prospectville is in Horsham Township in Montgomery County. The center of it is at Limekiln Pike and Horsham Road. It is a very small town that at one time was called Cashtown. It has never been a part of Bucks County, but it is not far from the County Line of Bucks and Montgomery County. I have some information on it from past times. Are you looking for anything specific? Linda Wright lwright@sct.com
Tohickon, tell me about this place. Is there still a Tohickon German Reformed Church there? My greet great grandfather was married there in 1760 nand I would like to visit it or its replacement. David Grubbs
Does anyone have any BANE/S or RIGHTER relatives they want to share information on? Have been able to trace them to the Bucks Co & Montgomery co. areas. Does anyone know if Prospectville was once in Bucks Co? Have some info from the 1830 Bucks Co census listing a John Banes and an Elijah Banes. Looking for info on George Washington Layfette BANES, he was married in 1850 to Emeline RIGHTER. Any information on either family very much appreciated. Jacqui Righter Baylis
Diane, I am very interested in this Davis family, especially in son, Joshua Davis. Did he marry Rachel Wilson and go to Ross and Pike Co., Ohio? You can email me at dianejnichols@qwest.net
Cheryl, I think we are from the same family of Davis. It appears that Joshua Davis, Sr., William Davis, and Joshua Davis, Jr. all went to Ross Co., Ohio from PA by 1807. I think I have a good line on this Joshua Sr. in PA, but have not completely developed it yet. I want to get a little more info and documentation before I share it. (I don't want to put it out there and then find I am completely wrong!!). My Joshua Jr. bought land from William in Ross Co., evidently the part of Ross that later became Pike Co., and I have a lot of data on them. I wonder if you could send me a copy of William's will so I can see if it is, indeed, the same family. You can email me at dianejnichols@qwest.net
>From the union of Elizabeth Oberholtzer and George Yohn came a child Sarah Ann Yahn who married Jonathan Seasholtz. Their son Jonathan Seasholtz maried Sallie Weinhold producing 3 chjildren - Warren, John and Dorothy. Dorothy was my mother. I would welcome any additional information you might have on this line. Especially further back on the Oberholtzer and Yohn and Seasholtz branches.
In my signature below, there is a link to my two websites. The title with "family library" is my complete database. There are nearly 13,000 names in this updated version. Insofar as Bucks Co., Pa is concerned, there are Brills, Wrights, and related families. Hope you will take a look. Any additions or corrections would be appreciated however I require documentation before correcting my information. I really think that I might be too. The info that I have is sketchy on the Iowa end, but Buffalo Bill Cody used to call my great-great- grandfather "cousin" according to the genealogy that I found on a FTM. My grandfather has always claimed that he is native american..that some grandfather of his..no one he personally knew, went out west and married a squaw. My great great grandfather was Joseph Llewellyn Hoffman. b. April 30, 1867. It is said that he was born in Bucks County, hence my search here, however, the whole squaw story and the Buffalo Bill thing lead me to Iowa. What do you think...Joseph Hoffman is a very prominent name in my family. My great-great grandfather, Joseph L. is said to be the son of Joseph Hoffman (b. circa. 1845) and his wife Sarah Wilder. They had Joseph L. who also had Joseph Stanley Hoffman. He had a son Joseph also and my grandfather (Gordon Hoffman) named his son Joseph. My father never had any sons, so the line ends there. I would like! to investigate into Iowa a little deeper. It seems like a good lead.
Does anyone know how or where to obtain German Army personnel files? Dave Steckel,Wenonah,NJ
Searching for Ancesters in Netherlands. My great grandfather was married to Teuntje (Teuna?) Melchior b. Dec. 2, 1838, daughter of Jan Melchior b.? and Gerritje Asscheman, b.?

Hunsberger I do have even more information about the childrens children and so on. How do you fit into this line? Lynn
Check for a Telephone listing of the Plymouth Meeting Historical Society -- the woman who runs it is a direct descendent and may provide you with some good leads.
Good Afternoon May of you may know the GenConnect boards have merge with the Myfamily query boards. This Change just took place yesterday. Under the new system all the boards are merge into one board and instead of the query, will, deeds, etc. all being separate. You can view, search, etc just the Bucks County boards or all the boards in the genconnect system. If you use advance search you can pick if you wish to search for example just the wills. The major new change is if you wish to post you will have to register providing a username, password, your first and last name and an email address. Some people are concern when they have to register this way or will not post at all. So a new set of boards as been set up at Pa Roots for Bucks Co. I will be admin. of all the boards but the marriage, birth and death records. (Am also admin. of the genconnect boards.) You do not need to register to use this boards. You are also welcome to submit any wills, bios, marriage, birth records, etc., to me and I can post directly to the Bucks Co Page. I have had some people in the past who wish to post their information this way instead of to the different message boards. Both set of boards can be access from the main page of the Bucks Co site. http://www.rootsweb.com/~pabucks/ If you have any question please contact me at judjack@rocketmail.com Judy GenConnect, Pa Roots Boards Admin. for Bucks Co. Good Morning Following up on my email of yesterday Here is the address to the genconnect boards. This is all one address http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p=Localities.United-20-States.States.Pennsylvania.Counties.Bucks or you can still follow the link on the Bucks Co site. Many of you are aware that the system has been change and myfamily and genconnect boards have been merge. (Think that is how it is). Still learning the ins and outs as the admin. of these boards under the new system. Anyway you can view and search the site but if you wish to post you will have to register. You will need to provide (all the following is required)a username name, pasword, First Name and Last Name, and an email address. They are still working on getting some of the bugs out of the system. I know in Feb many messages were lost in the process of changing somethings in the system. So who know what will happen while they get the bugs out. Yesterday I mention recommoding not posting to the boards for awhile. That should really be your decision. I'm sure given time things will work itself out. I am looking at some other options. Thanks have a great day Judy Bucks Co Pa mailing list, genconnect and PaGenWeb coordinator. ===== Bucks Co. Hi All This message (part of it) was sented to the Paschuyl list by Barb Lavin who handles the genconnect boards for that county. With her permission I am posting it to the Pabucks list. Since I manage the genconnect boards for Bucks County PA. According to the rootsweb/ancestry.com staff the boards are now back to functioning I would recommded at this time do not post to these boards yet. Here are her reasons why and I do agree with them reasons 1) I have no way at this moment to maintain the boards as a volunteer for the county - I not only maintain the website(s) but I am the admin of these boards. I haven't been able to log- in to be the admin so can't do anything to help or maintain. (I have manage to log into the Bucks Co boards site but still not sure of all the ins and outs of managing the baords). 2) If any of you remember Feb when GC "failed" all the messages for Feb were lost - this means possibly these will be lost as well - something I don't want to see happen as each of your queries, etc are important. 3)Also some of the bugs have not been worked out and won't be for awhile. The system they have can't even handle the load of the volunteers trying to access the boards - in USGW there is approx 1500 of us. If they can't handle the overload of 1500 people they won't be able to handle the mega questions you guys have. So this is what I am proposing- please hold off until I find it is safe and I can enter the boards. I have no idea how they work - although they've told us. The URL (main one) will be changing as possibly the the other boards. They have combined the boards into one local giving you a drop down menu for where you would like to go. All of this takes time to change - The boards can be searched and I'll be changing the url on the Bucks Co page and soon as I know for sure what the url is. I think if you click on the query board it will take you to the new Bucks County boards. But any of the others will just take you to just a generic message board and not Bucks County. Thank you for your cooperation and your patience Judy Bucks County GenConnect boards manager and Bucks Co PaGenWeb coordinator. ===== Bucks Co. Im sorry here is the link <A HREF="http://www.unsolvedmurders.com/">Families of Unsolved Murders</A>
Hello, I remember the double murder at the video store you mention. As for as I know there has not been any mention on them. This is a link to the Families of Unsolved Murders. There maybe more information here. Laura
Hi Everyone, Sorry for this off topic but I can't think of anyone else to ask..... I've been trying to find articles or stories online concerning the stabbing death of Bryan Benson & Sean (I can't remember his last name) At the video store in Rosemore shopping center, county line Rd. It happened about November of 1992 if I remember correctly. I graduated from William Tennent high school with the two boys and was wondering if anything significant came from the investigation. Last I heard (About 3 -4 years ago) there was nothing. Any ideas? Thanks ~Dolly
I'll be there next week. My 3-g-grandparents, Jacob and Mary Stone, are buried at the New Britain Baptist Church, and we are having a family reunion from June 24-27 in Bucks County. It's quite a large cemetery, but I have time to do a cursory review. You might also consider writing to the church; they may already have a list. I know there are extensive minutes and records available at the Spruance Library in Doylestown. In fact, I found that my g-g-grandfather, Reuben Stone, was "discharged" from the church "for not meeting his requirements for fellowship" (i.e., probably didn't pay his tithes -- he had moved to Mount Holly, NJ, 16 years earlier! Talk about procrastinating -- it took the church 16 years to get around to discharging him! <g>) 8:o) Priscilla
