    1. [PABUCKS-L] Burlington Island Park
    2. robert willey
    3. I'm looking for information regarding Burlington Island Park...where exactly, dates it operated, why type of "park"---amusement, city, county, etc. I have at least one tintype from there dated 1911...an identical paper casing leads me to believe there was at one time at least one other taken at the same place and time, and 2 other tintypes in the same album have similar backdrops and could be from there. The child depicted in the labelled tintype was George W (illiam?) HANEY, son of Nettie SINCLAIR and George B/V HANEY. They were married 15 June 1907 in Bristol; George W. would have been born ca May 1909, also in Bristol---well, they were living in Bristol in 1910 census. George B/V Haney was a son of William and Catherine Haney, grandson of Nicholas HEANEY. Nettie Sinclair was the only child of Wilson Sinclair and Annetta L. GRIFFIN DENBEIGH/DENBY. Wilson Sinclair was the son of Edmund Sinclair; Annetta Griffin was a daughter of George Washington Griffin and Rebecca Mariah HIGGINS. I have 2 photo albums of related photos, plus lots of information on Griffin and Denbeigh lines I'd love to exchange or pass along to the Sinclair and Haney families. Since Wilson Sinclair moved to Colorado, it's possible that many of the photos owned by the families in the West are not photos the eastern families have seen. Nancie

    1. [PABUCKS-L] SINCLAIR/ST. CLARE/ST.CLAIR
    2. robert willey
    3. I'm looking for any information about the SINCLAIR family in Bristol, Bucks Co from at least 1860+...they may have been there quite a bit earlier, but I haven't tracked them back further as yet. I have Edmund SINCLAIR age 44 bPA with wife Ellen and children Mary Jane, Wilson, Edmund, Hannah, Augustina, and Sarah Ann in Bristol 1860 census. Two households away is Mary Ann SINCLAIR, aged 67 who is widowed and looks to be the head of house, with people in the house listed as Eli(a)s Moore, Jane, William H, Elizabeth, Hellen McClain. I don't know if Jane, William, and Elizabeth are Moores or not...no ditto marks or other indicator. Then in 1870, I find Edmund (aged 54) and family yet again, this time with an additional child, Ellen--same list of children still living at home. Two dwellings away is Peter SINCLAIR aged 75 with Hannah, Hannah, Adolphus, Elizabeth, and Alexander. I have some information regarding the above Wilson SINCLAIR, and am trying to put his family together. It seems possible that Peter and Hannah may be his grandparents, but Mary Ann (widowed) is also of an age to be his grandmother. Is anyone researching the Sinclairs or families that married into them? Nancie

    2. In my experience, the name Jonas was quite common in the 19th century. I haven't seen it used much in either the 18th or 20th centuries. Tom

    1. [PABUCKS-L] JONAS
    2. Because we are discussing first names. How common, or how often has anyone seen the first name Jonas in Bucks County? I ask because James McCarty & Sarah's only son was Jonas. The name Jonas then appears on a regular basis throughout our line. Kathy "Kath" (Burden) Shaffer Omaha, NE >^,,^< >^,,^< >^,,^< >^,,^< >^,,^< >^,,^< >^,,^< >^,,^< >^,,^<

    1. [PABUCKS-L] Re: John/Jacob
    2. The names John and Jacob are not interchangeable. However, among the PA German families prior to the mid-19th century, the males were often given the name of John plus something else (e.g. John Jacob, John George, John Frederick) where the second name was the one they really used. So a man named John Jacob would have been called just "Jacob" even though his full name was "John Jacob". This causes confusion among some researchers who are used to the modern-day practice of referring to someone by their first name rather than their middle name. I have seen the names Jacob and James used interchangeably. Tom

    3. I am looking for the birth of PELEG M. RUMFIELD he was born March 25, 1818 somewhere in PA. It is likely it was Lehigh, Northampton, Bucks or Montgomery Co, as that is where most of the RUMFIELDs were. I have a great deal of Rumfield information, but have not been able to connect Peleg to his parents. Happy to trade information. Thank you, Dick Sommer Stillwater, MN rosommer@mindspring.com

    1. [PABUCKS-L] FRANKENFIELD, JUMP, FELL, YAGER
    2. I have a Great Grandfather named George W. FRANKENFIELD born 11 Aug 1851 & he was a son of Samuel FRANKENFIELD and Lydia Ann FELL. George married a Susan JUMP (his second marriage)in Edina, Knox Co. MO. Marriage date was 29 Nov. 1881. Susan JUMP was born ca. 1859-1863 & died Nov 24, 1898 at Keokuk, Lee Co. Iowa. George was born & lived in Bucks Co., PA, Mechanics Valley. George & Susan (JUMP) FRANKENFIELD had a daughter named Lydia Oma FRANKENFIELD born at Kirksville, Adair Co., Missouri on 15 Nov 1885. After the death of her mother Susan, we found Lydia in a 1900 census record in a Crane Family household at 14 years old, in Harrison Co., Iowa. I don't know if her father George was also deceased. Would like to know where he died. Lydia Oma FRANKENFIELD married David Seeley YAGER 15 Nov 1905 in Woodbine, Harrison Co., Iowa. Lydia died 24 May 1961 in Tulare, Huron Co., S.D. Did George W. FRANKENFIELD and Susan JUMP have any other children besides Lydia Oma FRANKENFIELD? Since ! we can't find out from a living aunt or uncle because they don't know, and the 1890 census can't be accessed, we are running queries. Do you know of any sources or anyone working on these people? Thanks. David Yager

    1. [PABUCKS-L] Patrick & Thomas McCarty
    2. Hi listers, I may have figured out who Patrick and Thomas McCarty were in Bucks County. I found an Edward McCarty at rootsweb. His parents were Nicholas McCarty and Unity Casey. Edward had sons named Patrick and Thomas. It gets really confusing with all of those McCarty's in the same area at the same time frame. One clue may be that Nicholas McCarty's line were Catholic. Silas McCarty's line were Presbyterians. I did find Dennis McCarty brother to Silas at rootsweb. I hope to hear from the submitter of the data soon.
