Phebe's first husband was David Spear, who died July 19, 1773, leaving his wife and the following children, Elizabeth, William, David, and John. John and Phebe later had three children of their own, John, Hugh and a daughter, Jane. At the time of John's death, his will indicates Jane's last name is Slack. Thar's really all I know of the Slack family. Although John and Phebe spent most of their married life in New London Twnshp, Chester County, Pa., I thought since they were originaly from Newton, Pa., their may be a connection with your family line. My research has centered mainly on the Irish community in the central part of the county: Bowman, Polk, Liberty, Duncan and a few other townships. Still, I've been through the entire county censuses, and have indexed parts of them from 1850 to 1900. I only have Jeremiah up to the 1860 census, after that I loose him. I do have his sons born before 1860, William F. (+ Nancy Miles in 1880) and Lafayette (+ Mary Montgomery in 1881). Yeah, Jeremiah must have been in the county if those sons got married there. Did any of Jeremiah's descendents marry into the (Scotch) Irish community? Names include Sterling, Cochran, Ross, Caldwell, Crawford, McCrackin, Graham and several others. You better email me direct at jster@ptd.net We've strayed off of the Bucks Co. subject, we might get yelled at:-]

It must have been after 1900, since I don't have him in my file. At least, no Daniel who married Minnie Belle Smith. The two Daniels I have were Dan married to Catherine Stitles (before they got to Sullivan), and their son Daniel (1838) who married Mary Grimm in Sullivan in 1864. I only followed my blood related famlies past the 1900 mark.

He married Ann Harrison. Their ch: Ann Mary, Margaret, Hannah, Mary, Elizabeth, Henry Jr., Jacob, Moses, Isaac. I have a bit of information on each of the children. Daughter Mary md William Higgins and appears to have lived in Bucks Co., Pa for sometime, then possibly moving to Philadelphia where her sister Hannah lived. I've tried for awhile to connect my Henry to Conrad Reutschi that others have traced to down in Virginia, but have had no luck for "proving" it, only speculation. There were a number of Ritchey's living in Berks Co., Pa who share similar names, but do not appear to be related to my Henry. The similarity in names is eery in that Isaac, Henry and Moses are all names from Berks Co., Pa records. Research into those families though did not help me. <g> On my Moses Ritchey, I have found very little. His wife's name was Rebecca. Moses Richey is listed in the 1798 Direct Tax, Upper Bucks published by Harry Adams in 1994 on page 129. He owned the 16 acres that was his inheritance from his grandfather Miles Harrison. In the direct tax, this parcel is adjoining land of John Morris. Moses had left that land vacant and total valuation was 120. At this time, Moses was living on 80 acres belonging to his father Henry. This parsel adjoined lands of John Anglemair and Caspar Freiling. On this parcel was a 28 x 47 one story log house with a 36 x 22 log barn. The house was valued at 150. Total valuation was 505. In the accounts of his father's estate in 1806, Moses was paid 11 pounds, 17 shilling and 4d for a judgement & Interest. Though I have not found any records of this lawsuit, it is apparent that settlement was made. I believe he was the youngest son of Henry and Ann's, but I do not have any dates for either Moses or Rebecca. If this is your Moses, I would be happy to share other Ritchey information on siblings and his parents that I have. If you know if there is any connection between the Berks Co., Pa Ritchey's and my BUCKS co, Pa Ritchey's, boy that would be great! I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Lorretta Sinclair ======================= My grgrgrandfather was Moses Ritchey/Ritchie. My grgrandfather was Enoch whose son was Walter whose daughter was Margaret-my mother. I think the Higgins are related-Minnesota?
