How nice to see names that are familiar such as the HUSTONs and PHILPOTTs from Bucks Co., OH. Feels like family that I know. These two surnames married into the family of my brick wall ancestor, Abner H. Heaton and traveled together west to Jefferson Co., OH. Forgive me, but I'd like to post my old query with this group in hopes someone knows of a paper trail in Bucks Co., PA: Seeking parents of Abner H. Abner married 29 Oct 1832 Lower Makefield, BUCKS CO., PA Elizabeth HEATON (daughter of William and Ann [MATHER] HEATON) b. 20 Oct 1809 Westhoughton, Lanc. Co., England. Abner and Elizabeths children were Mary Ann b. PA 1835, Elizabeth b. PA 1837, Lucy b. PA 1838, Samuel H. b. OH 1842, Amanda M. b. OH 1844, J. Cornelius b. OH 1848, and Jennie M. b. OH 1853. I have a Phebe Philpot in my "mystery" file and it appears that she may be your Phebe. My information comes from a cemetery record and it says she was born April 4, 1741 and and died June 18, 1795. She is buried at New London Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Chester Co., Pennsylvania and it notes that she was the d/o William and Jean Philpot I'm wondering if you can confirm any of this? George was orphaned at age 5 when (it has been said) his parent's (names unknown) horse drawn buggy was hit by a train and they were killed. The children (1 brother & 2 sisters) were adopted out. George married in 1847, Reading, to Carolina Louise Ancona and they had eleven children: Jacob, Martha, Hester, Mary, Katherine, George, Morris, William, John, Linneaus (our family line), and Moses J. He left Pennsylvania in 1856 for Illinois. Am wondering if someone locally might be able to check the local newspaper in about 1824 for a report on the buggy train accident. Other suggestions welcomed!
