I have a Samuel SMITH b. c. 1796-1800 PA who ended up in Northwestern Ohio after 1850. Samuel Smith m. Amanda STERLING (b. 11 Jul 1823 PA), whose family were in Bucks County at the time of the Rev War. Her grandfather, Levi Sterling, was a Rev War veteran from Bucks, and I believe that Samuel Smith's father or grandfather may also have been in the Rev War. It has been suggested that both of these families, the Sterlings and Smiths, left Bucks following the Rev War because of their willingness to participate in that war. Beyond that, I have been unable to find information. Can anyone add to information about this period, its effect on families which contained Rev War vets, and about the SMITHs and STERLINGs and CROASDALEs in particular?

The name LARZELERE is known in a number of counties in PA and in NJ. Bucks and Philadelphia and Montgomery seem to have their LARZELEREs. Burlington and Camden in NJ, are known to have theirs. I have mine, and have not a *clue* who her parents were, or where they were from... I am hoping you will! I have tried many things. Can you see: Mary Emma Larzelere DeROUSSE m. 1894 Philadelphia Oswald Jackson DeROUSSE. There is a smidgen on the web about her, in the form of Mrs. O. J. DeROUSSE, during the time period around WWI, at: http://www.ukans.edu/~libsite/wwi-www/Clarke/Clarke26.htm I am really, really hoping you can help me figure out this mystery. Thanks, Vince (tired!)
