I have a court document (copy) in which several people had to swear that the heirs present were the children of William SHingelton as he "leftt no widow." Absolom is said to be 1st born. William died in 1849, Elizabeth in 1810. I have Absalom, Sanford, Robert, Polly, John, Jeremiah, Elizabeth (Betsey) and ALexander...all present at the reading of the will with witnesses attesting that these were WIlliam's rightful heirs! I descended from ALexander.

Another Samuel, no dates, is the son of Samuel SMITH and Rachel COOPER. Samuel, the father, is the brother of the John above. This Samuel moved to Goose Creek, VA in 1786. Samuel and John are the sons of Thomas SMITH, Jr and Mary ROSS, Thomas the son of Thomas SMITH and Elizabeth SANDERS (my 7g-gp), Thomas the son of Wm SMITH and Mary CROASDALE.
