All I really need to do so is find out the father of my greatgrandfather, Thomas Paxson. Greatgrandpa married his second wife, Sarah McCormick, in Belmont Co., OH. His first wife Elizabeth Morgan came from Warren Co., OH and died. Thomas had 10 kids and I can find all their names. My grandpa's name was Thomas and I had an uncle Tom. I have looked all over for Old Tom's father, but no luck in three years. Would love to have this information to pass on to my great-grandchildren. M.A.Paxson Morris

My 7X great grandfather was one George Brown who settled in Bucks Co. in 1679. His wife, one Mercy Wright (both born Leicestershire, England 1643 & 1658 respectively), were the parents of 15 children, eight of whom survived to adulthood. I know George died in 1726 in Bucks Co., perhaps Falls twp. He was a Justice of the Peace. They were members of the Society of Friends (Quakers) and well thought of in the community. As of 1683 their land was next door to that owned by William Penn. Hoping to find info on any of their brothers, sisters, parents, etc. Did any of George & Mercy's relatives come with them to America in 1679? G & M did not marry until they arrived in New Castle Delaware. I'm thinking that Mercy would not have traveled to the new world unaccompanied. Looking for records especially for the period of 1679-1750 in Bucks. I know some of George & Mercy's Grandchildren were in Cumberland Co. PA by 1710-1720 as great grand children were born there. Any help much appreciated. Fred Spuhler Minnesota

    2. Howard Speck
    3. Nancy, Yes, your web page, the Southampton Baptist cemetery gravestone inscriptions for BANES/BEANS, shows that the elder Evan (c. 1769-1814) is probably the one buried there. The younger Evan, who married Martha Woodington, is buried in the Vandegrift Cemetery in Cornwells Heights. The vital dates on his tombstone are: 1791-1845. His wife, Martha (1803-1889) daughter of David an Elizabeth Woodington, is also buried there. But I don't know for sure if the 2 Evans are father and son. I am also seeking the names of the children for both Evans in order to determine if there is a connection to my Joseph Banes VANDEGRIFT. It would seem that none of the info you have is applicable to them. However, when I was at the DAR library last year (looking through books on early Bucks County history)I found that there was another John Barclay in Bucks County at the same time. He was something of a notable, significant landowner, Justice of the Peace and other offices. He did not serve in the war and probably spent all his days in Bucks, produced a family and may be the individual from whom your list of people came. Good Hunting, Phil
