I would be so gratful if someone would help me find any information on Joseph and Mary Ann Dyer's son Philip. I believe he was born in New Jersey in 1796. The family ended up in Bucks Co. Thanks so much for any info you may have. Bev
Thank you for the information. The marriage of Edward Y Sterner and Ellen Kichline was found in Bucks Co. Ruby
Could someone look up the name Skill in Byberry.? My father's people lived there and owned a confectionary store there also. Joseph Skill or any Skill living in Byberry, Pa. thank you, Linda [email protected] --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Everyone is raving about the all-new Yahoo! Mail.
I GOT IT! They were married by Rev. Frederick Waage probably at Christ Lutheran Church, Trumbauersville, Milford Township, Bucks County. 1854 - Feb. 19th Edward Sterner and Ellen Kichlein This was from a book that listed all the marriages by Rev. Frederick Waage. If you want a copy of the record, I can get the record page, title page of the book and the information about the book and Rev. Waage, he was with 3 churches. Copies are 30 cents each. Let me know if you want any copies. I wil be back at the library tomorow. I assume they were married at Christ Union church, because that is where they are buried. In case it is helpful, my Bucks County ancestor was married in New Jersey. He lived in Bensalem but apparently it was more convenient to go to New Jersey to be married. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, October 20, 2006 2:47 AM Subject: Re: [PABUCKS] 1850 Census > Thank you. Pat, you may want to try this "Find a Library" locator link: http://www.worldcatlibraries.org/ I entered: Pennsylvania Archives and hit enter. I then selected one of the results from the list, then entered your location of North Carolina. I think you may be in luck as it appears that the University of North Carolina at Asheville may have the PA Archives series. Thanks very much for the information. In some of my information it was stated that John Brock was Sheriff of Bucks county in the 1700's, I do know their children were born mostly in N.J. just on the other side of the river from Bucks county and at one time were members of the FAlls Monthly Meeting. Thanks again for your work. --------------------------------- Get your email and more, right on the new Yahoo.com

Hi The attached I abstracted from her book. She adds a lot of footnotes I do not copy. Her son Robert W Shoemaker,Jr 1302 MarylandAve Anderson, Ind 46011 still has copies of the book for sale copyright 1990, 2 years after his mothers death. This is a very small part -probably 25 pages of 2000 in the book, so it may not be worth while for you to buy it. I'm not sure what more she may have had on the Strawns, it is her mothers side of the family, she may have much more than she used in the Van Buskirk book. She spent about30 years collecting VB data, I first heard from her in 1958, and wrote her often right up to her death in 1988. She had a dual line from the Strawns. She mentions Lancelot, then three Jacobs in a row. I was not sure which Jacob you had in mind, If you like I can go back and read the full pages for an e-mail message if I knew what you wanted. I have a copy of "A History of the Townships of Byberry and Moreland" by Martindale. John Brock, a Quaker, is mentioned on page 43 and 45 of this book. along with other distinguished gentlemen such as John Hart, John Rush, Nathaniel Walton, Giles Knight, John Carver, Daniel Walton, Thomas Walton William Walton, Henry English, Thomas Knight, John Gilbert, William Hibbs, Thomas Groome and others. Martindale gives an account of how the above mentioned gentlemen had a disagreement of doctrine, with some breaking off from one Friends Meeting and forming a new Byberry Meeting. John Carver and John Brock were given the job of" admonishing those that profess God's truth and do not walk answerable thereto." I could find no reference to the Brock family in Davis' "History of Bucks Co." I would guess that they lived in Philadelphia Co., perhaps Byberry. Norma Stilwell, Researcher, Bucks List
Actually, a large part of S. Bethlehem does fall within the Northampton County line. And there was a West Bethlehem , but not until 1886 and it was incorporated with the city of Bethlehem in 1904.
