    2. Hello Alan, I have been reading your up dates and enjoying them very much. The name Eastburn means a lot to me, for it is my husbands first name. He was named for Ispen Cressman. He was his Great grandfather. Ispen changed his name to Eastburn and so it remains in our family. My grandson says it will end with him. How ever I am interested in the Eastburn family as well. I am just starting to research it. I would appreciate any help or suggestions you can give me. The Cressman family lived in Bucks Co. Eastburn Cressman lived in Pleasant Valley, but finally in his older years moved to Bethlehem, Pa and lived with his daughter and family. Keep up the good work. Thanks Anna in AZ

    1. [PABUCKS] HADDONFIELD, Bucks Co, 1830-1870
    2. I am new to the list and have only started my research in Bucks County. I am interested in the HADDONFIELD/ ADAIR family listed below, especially Joseph’s parents. From the 1830’s to the 1870’s, this family lived in Middletown Twp, Bucks County, PA. The surname is variously spelled Haddenfield, Hattenfield, Haddinfield, etc. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. I will gladly share all information I have on this and related families. JOSEPH HADDONFIELD b 1805 (C50) or 1801 (C60) in PA. d before 8 July 1870, probably in Bucks County. m 5 Feb 1831 in Bucks County, PA to HANNAH ADAIR, d/o John Adair (Marriage Licenses Issued by Isaac Hicks, 1824-1836). Hannah Adair Haddonfield has a range of birth years, ranging from 1810 (C60, C80), to 1811 (C50), to 1813 (C70). She died sometime after the City Directory of Philadelphia was compiled in 1890 (“wid Joseph, h r 1130 Fkd av”). Children (probably not in order). 1. Caroline Haddonfield b abt 1833 in PA, d November 1874, Northeast, Cecil Co, MD. m Edward Bushrod Johnson 27 Oct 1853 in Middletown Twp, Bucks Co (Marriage Registrations, 1852-1854). Caroline is my connection. I have a great deal of information to share on this family. 2. Charles Wesley Haddonfield Also Wesley. Born October 1835 (C00) in PA. Died sometime after 1910. Married abt 1866 (C00) or 1867 (C10) to Mary J ? • In C60, Wesley H is working as a farm laborer for Andrew Brown, Lower Makefield Twp. • In C70, Wesley H returns home to help after the apparent death of his father. • In C80, Charles W Haddonfield has moved to Beach St in Fishtown, Philadelphia, where he is an engineer and head of a huge household (including mother Hannah, brothers Thomas P and Morris F, and sister Catherine). • In the Philadelphia City Directory of 1890, he is an engineer living at 1052 Beach. • In the Special Schedule for Vets in 1890, he is living at 1052 Beach. Service in Co I, 71 PA Inf from 31 May 1861 to 2 July 1864. Pension files ordered. • In C00, Charles W Haddonfield is an engineer, living at 1122 Earl St, Philadelphia. • In C10, Charles Haddonfield, now 75 and wife Mary J (65) report that they’ve been married 43 years. Mary J? has had 11 children, 7 now living. Here’s an outline of their issue: a. Annie Haddonfield, b 1867 in PA (C80) b. George H (?) Haddonfield, b Jan 1872 in PA (C00). Marries Isabella? between 1891 (C00) and 1893 (C10). In C00, Isabella reports that she’s had 5 kids and 3 are currently living. Two children seem obvious  Jesse Haddonfield, b July 1896 in PA  Albert Haddonfield, b Jun 1898 in PA c. Charles L Haddonfield, b 1873 (C80) – 1874 (C10). In C10, we learn that he’s been married since 1897, but he’s living with his father, no wife in the household. Two children listed as “grandchildren” may be his  Anna Haddonfield, b 1902 in PA  Edna Haddonfield, b 1905 in PA d. Jesse Haddonfield, b Aug 1877 in PA. In C00, he’s a teamster living in his dad’s house. In 1910, he’s still single and living at home. e. Isabella Haddonfield, b Apr 1878 (C00) in PA. In 1900, she’s a servant living at home. f. Carmine Haddonfield (female), b May 1883 in PA (C00). g. William Haddonfield, b Dec 1888, in PA (C00). William is still living at home in 1910. 3. Susan R Haddonfield, b 1842 (C50) or 1843 (C60) in PA. In the census of 1860, Susan is working in Thomas Spencer’s household, Lower Makefield Twp. 4. Ann E Haddonfield, b 1841 in PA (C50). 5. George W Haddonfield, b 1844 (C50, C60) or 1847 (C70). Died after 1890. This line really needs work, but I believe this is the vet living at 111 Chenango St in the Special Schedule for Vets, 1890. Geo W Hattenfield, Co C, 6th US Inf, served as a Private 21 Jun 1886- 1 Jun 1889 and as a Private in Co G (C?), 3rd PA Cav from 1 Aug 1861 to 24 Aug 1864 (3 years, 23 days). He was shot in the head in one of those services and was hard of hearing in 1890. I believe he had children. One son • Thomas P Haddonfield, b Sept 1865 is serving in the Philippines in 1900. Home address: 111 Chenango St, Philadelphia. 6. James (?) Haddonfield, b 1846 in PA (C50). Needs investigation. 7. Thomas P Haddonfield (first identified as William T Haddonfield?) OK, this is a bit of a mystery. In the 1850 census, there are twins in Joseph’s house: William T and Robert Y Haddonfield. Robert Y is not seen in later censuses, but William T seems to become Thomas in C60 and C70. This is the man who is later listed as Thomas P Haddonfield. b May 1849 in PA (C00) Married in 1880 to Mary E ?, b Feb 1860 in PA. In C00, Mary E Haddonfield reports that she has had 8 children, 6 living in 1900. Here are the six… • Catherine Haddonfield, b Nov 1879 in PA • Elizabeth Haddonfield, b Oct 1881 in PA • Joseph (?) Haddonfield, b Sept 1884 in PA • Mary E Haddonfield, b Oct 1891 in PA • George W Haddonfield, b Oct 1897 in PA • Iris (?) Haddonfield, b Mar 1899 in PA In the City directory of 1890, Thomas P Haddonfield is a machinist living at 1082 Beach St, Fishtown. That is in close proximity to 1052 Beach, where his father, Charles Wesley Haddonfield is living in the same directory listings. 8. Robert Y Haddonfield, b 1849 in PA (C50). 9. Morris Frederick Haddonfield (sometimes Morris, sometimes Fred), b 1850 (C50 and C60) or 1856 (C80) in PA. In C80, he is living with brother Charles Wesley Haddonfield in PA. 10. Sarah Haddonfield, b 1854 (C60) in PA. 11. Ellen Haddonfield, b 1853 in PA (C70). 12. Catherine (Kate) Haddonfield, b 1858 (C70) – 1859 (C60 and C80) in PA. In C80, Catherine Haddonfield is living with brothers Wesley, Thomas P, and Morris F. Her mother Hannah is also there. I apologize for the length of this message. Steve Balcom [email protected]
