    2. Linda, I just went to your site...........how ever do you do all that?! I have been in contact with someone on the Bucks County site that seemed a little concerned because my BINNS was the actual owner on a farm on Clymer Road that the records (map) show as belonging to BEANS. Now I know why it has all been so hard to find Charles over the uears. First I find BINNS, then it is BURNS, now I add BEANS. Thanks for your help. I will write to Betty soon..too much holiday to concentrate well! 1. [PABUCKS] Van Horne yDNA Project
    2. Marleen Van Horne
    3. This is a reminder, I still have three gift certificates available. These certificates must be used by 31 December. MSV Again this holiday season, Family Tree DNA has made available, to the Van Horne yDNA Project, four gift certificates for yDNA [men] testing, and two gift certificates for mtDNA [women] testing The gift certificates will be made available on a first come first serve basis to anyone with the Van Horn / Van Horne surname. They may be applied to the cost of testing, for anyone, who registers, to be tested, for the first time, through 31 December 2006 The project currently has six participants, one a descendant of Christian Barentsen, four descendants of Matthys Cornelissen and one whose ancestor is not yet determined. It is the project objective to identify the genetic lines of the three immigrants to New Netherlands whose descendants took the Van Horn / Van Horne surname, Jan Cornelissen, Christian Barentsen and Matthys Cornelissen. According to George Olin Zabriskie’s articles in TAG, Jan Cornelissen had two sons, Cornelius Jansen and Joris Jansen, and Christian Barentsen had three sons, Barent Christiansen, Cornelis Christiansen and Johannes Christansen. You MUST be a male in direct line of male descent from your Van Horn / Van Horne ancestor. We would very much like to have descendants of these five men participate in the project, however, all men with this surname are welcome to participate. The two gift certificates for mtDNA testing are available to any woman whose maiden name is Van Horn / Van Horne. If you are interested, please write to me personally at [email protected] In the interest of not causing a ruckus on a mail list or message board, I WILL NOT respond to messages posted there. Happy Holidays, Marleen Van Horne Van Horne yDNA Project Manager

    1. [PABUCKS] Quakerstown? Rockhill Township?
    2. I have a few questions. 1. I have a 1880 map of Rockhill Township, Bucks Co and a location that I think was the location of my gr grandfather's farm. I would like to put it on as an attachment and see if someone recognizes where it is so that I have a "current " address. Would someone volunteer to take a look at the map? Some day I would like to get to PA and take a look. 2. Charles Binns (the gentleman in question) d in Rockhill Township, Quakerstown 20 Aug 1889..was buried somewhere and was later moved to Greenwood Cemetery in Philly. I know that Rockhill Township became East Rockhill in 1890 but I am confused about Quakerstown. Is one in the other? 3. I would love to find more about this elusive gr gr grandfather while he was in the area but I don't know where to search. I will say that the will (actually the deed for the sale of his property) I have is wonderful as it describes the boundaries of his farm...you are walked the boundaries by descriptions of a white oak swamp tree, rocks in the middle of a field and neighbors name. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Susan

    3. Hi Marleen! Are these certificates the $15, $20 & $30 off the tests? I have finally gotten interested in starting the Titus DNA project and saw your message. I connected with World Families who is a person who now handles the websites for Family Tree and he also is offering these certificates (if the same). I think I can still use Family Tree for the project websites or World Families but I haven't spoken to Family Tree since July about it. The guy over on World Families will help with the whole website and project until I can take it over. I have a male descendant ready to be tested from my branch! Then I need to get out the word, like you have, to the PA Bucks email group and we have a Dutch Titus email group. I hope to get one specific branch to test for me so that I can verify a specific parent. If only different branches get tested at least it will verify that I am in the right Dutch Titus group but not help me with my parent dilemma. Did you go to the genealogy seminar in Texas (I believe it was)? Let me know if you hear of any in northern CA or Nevada and maybe I could go to one. So. Calif is 8 - 9 hours for me and with an 8 yr old, not too easy for me to arrange. Talk to you later.
