I am researching Pearson Hambleton, (ggggg-grandfather) born probably in Burlington Cty, NJ and married to Mercy Ireton in 1804. They lived in Bucks County, PA the rest of their lives. I have been unable to go back any further. If anyone finds a connection I'd love to hear from you. Thanks. M. Listers, Who else is researching this family? Although I haven't found any relatives in Pennsylvania for Henry Roberts, his wife Mary Paxson was the daughter of Henry Paxson and wife Ann Plumly of Solebury twp., a family well documented in various places. I have been trying to trace the descendants of Henry & Mary, but it seems to me that most of them must have left Bucks Co. For the most part, their association with the Quaker community was somewhat loose, and records exist, but are spotty. Henry and Mary Roberts had 7 children, all mentioned in the wills of both Henry (dat. 1761) and Mary (dat. 1785): Richard 1730-1801 m. Mercy Betts, moved to Frederick Co. MD William 1732-1812 m. Grace Hambleton, stayed in Solebury twp. Henry 1733?-? Mary m. --- Williams (maybe Nathan Williams??) Jane m. Matthew Beans Margery m. --- Ryley Thomas I have only found a clear trace of son William, who stayed in Solebury twp. Some descendants of Richard have been traced: from Frederick Co. MD some moved on to Knox Co. OH and then further west. I suspect that daughter Jane may have moved to the area of Fairfax Co. VA. Does anyone know what became of any of these children? My line is from William Roberts who married Grace Hambleton, who was demonstrably the youngest daughter of James and Mary (Beaks) Hambleton, also of Solebury twp. William & Grace had 9 children, as shown by William's will (dat. 1812), but again, I've lost track of most of them, except for the youngest sons William and John, who both continued in Solebury. My family is that descended from Warner Peters Roberts, the son of the aforementioned John Roberts. Warner was born in Solebury twp., and died in Bedminster twp.; He and his wife Christiana (nee Schissler) are buried in the Plumsteadville Cemetery. Warner and Christiana had 6 sons and 3 daughters, who soon produced a large and growing family. For more than 100 years, the descendants of Warner P. Roberts have been holding regular family reunions in the Bucks Co. area. We hope soon to be able to post a complete genealogy of this family on the Internet. So if you have any information or any leads on any of these folks, we would be very grateful to hear from you. I'll close by listing Warner & Christiana's children with their spouses: John Roberts 1828-1910 m. Susanna D. Kratz Anthony Roberts 1829-1874 m. Anna DeCoursey Jonas S. Roberts 1833-1926 m. My home is in what was West Bethlehem. The area west of the Monocacy Creek is the Lehigh County side. East Bethlehem is a very old designation. I don't know how much help this would be, but Rock Hill Twp is generally considered Sellersville for mailing purposes.
I don't know if this will help, but Margery Paxson Married Matthew Beans some time in the 1700's. Mercer Musium in Doylestown has a good bit of Paxson History since they were a prominent family in Bucks County. Perhaps your ancester was a sister or cousin . also Rebecca Paxson married Timothy Beans and they moved to Virginia. Good Luck and Happy Hunting. Hi Folks : Here is a picture of the Durham Iron company operation taken from near the intersection of rt 611 and 212 . I don't think I posted this before . I ran across it again a couple of days ago and thought I would share it. If any one else has similar pictures of this area please send me a copy. Various members of my family worked there for almost 50 years. Happy New Year Jim Walter
