    1. [PABRADFO] Errors on Official Records
    2. Catherine Madigan
    3. Thought I'd add our family discrepancy. My grandparents gave birth to their 7th daughter, birth at home, 1916. While mygrandmother was showing the new baby to the 6 other little girls upstairs and excitely talking about her name - Grace -, my grandfather was downstairs giving the official info for a birth certificate to the Dr. 18 years later, Grace went to get a copy of her birthcertificate, only to find that the only one on record was for a Catherine. She came home with this distressing news - only to be told by her Dad, Oh that's you allright , I named you after my Aunt Kate. This story has been a source of amusement for our family for years. But also reveals much about the times they lived in. In defense of my grandfather though, with all the hubbub and chatter of all the little girls, he just became confused as to which name my grandmother really had decided upon and they had many a laugh about it while they waited for Grace to discover their miscommunication. So it can't all be blamed on those recorders of official information. Cathy
