Hi Sean, I have determined your name since I last wrote you. I am finding many links to pages on my site on yours. All of them give credit to Rootsweb as the source. It is CRITICAL that this error be corrected. All use of my materials, whether authorized or not, MUST give Tri-Counties Genealogy & History Sites of Joyce M. Tice as the source. This is essential and required. I recommend that you set a time goal by which time you can correct all of your erroneous source references to my site and let me know what that target date is. If you have given collective groups credit for other private sites, you may want to correct that error, also. We are generous to a fault to the public but not willing to let others get credit for our time, effort and accomplishments. Many of the volunteer contributors to my site are distressed that their gifts to the public are being presented as part of a site that has commercial funding supporting it. They have given these as a gift to the public through the channel of Tri-Count ies Genealogy & History Sites of Joyce M. Tice They know that the cost of presenting this site is mine and that I do not have any commercial funding to do it. Many of the people who participate in developing this site incur costs of their own in addition to the time they give freely. Presenting my pages in your frames makes it appear that they are part of your site and not my own work and that of my volunteer helpers. You need to be much clearer that yours is a site of cannibalization or "borrowed" links and not of original work. You also need to make it clear that none of the people whose pages you are presenting in your frames have authorized you to do so, or receive any of the sponsorship money which supports your site. I am certain that all of those who participate in developing my site want their work to be seen and used, but not under your commercial banner. Many other sites provide links to mine and I appreciate that. What is different in yours is that all of the pages you have borrowed are framed to appear as part of your own site and that you ask for financial support to help you do that. I rent space from Rootsweb at a far lower price than I could get from any other provider. Some of my guests give money to Rootsweb that helps keeps my rental costs down to a point where I can afford it. If you are going to be a commercially sponsored site with revenues to cover your costs which many of the rest of us do not have, you might consider how you can share that with the people who are shelling out their own money and time to present a site. If you are going to sell, you have to buy. Arbitrage in its pure form is a myth and short lived. A more honest approach would be to your credit. Joyce M.
