    1. [PABRADFO] Family Bibles
    2. You may find a family Bible where you least expect it! My dad didn't know what happened to the family Bible -- but he remembered entries for births back to the early 1800's. In my quest for family information, I contacted the ex-wife of my uncle (who died in the 1970's). I knew it was a long shot, but decided she "may" have kept a few things from their fairly short marriage. She was happy to provide me with a few items; including old newspapers and photos -- but no family Bible. About two months later, I got a call from her -- she had run into an old neighbor from many years ago. The neighbor said she had something she wanted to "return" to her. It was the family Bible! It seems my uncle loaned it to them in the early 1970s -- then my uncle and his wife divorced and moved. The old neighbors didn't know how to contact them --- so they kept the Bible in hopes of running into one of them. Almost 30 years later -- the Bible is returned. When my aunt got home, she immediately called me and said she wanted me to have it as I was the one doing the family research. What a wonderful phone call! The package arrived three days later -- and it was the family Bible exactly as my father remembered it from his youth. I feel very honored to be the "keeper" of the Bible. You just never know what may result from one of your long shots! Good luck to all in your research!
