Hi All Friends and Guests of <A HREF=" http://www.rootsweb.com/~srgp/jmtindex.htm ">Tri-Counties Genealogy & History Sites of Joyce M. Tice</A> I have uploaded the 1821 and 1822 Smithfield Tax lists to the Smithfield page of the site. I have also been "playing" this week adding individual photos with accompanying obits or biographical material to some of the townships in and near my Sullivan-Rutland Genealogy Project. Over the past nine years I have collected hundreds, probably thousands of family photos from the residents of Sullivan, Rutland, Jackson, Richmond, Columbia townships. Getting them online is a massive task, but I have added a few of them to the site. Check out Sullivan, Rutland, Columbia and Richmond township pages for some of them. The format that I am using is one I'd like to adapt for ALL the townships in the Tri-Counties. That will take your cooperation and your submissions. Right now I have a lot to catch up with on the flagholder and schools project and the postcards (and bridges and railroad stations), so it will be a while before I can focus on it. But it is a feature I'd like to see throughout the site. Start thinking about what you can add to that. Go dig your ancestors out of the attic so they can see the light of day again. Such a project is an insurance policy on old family photos the preservation of which is very vulnerable unless we make every effort to distribute them more widely. When there is only one copy of something, it is in great danger. This site has made incredible progress in its four years of existence, Now that the foundation structure is built, just think what we can accomplish in the next four. Joyce M.
