The Reporter Journal articles on the various townships in the 1880's that I copied years ago came from a scrapbook collection at the Bradford County Historical Society. This scrapbook collection was not complete and today I copied from microfilm two more installments on Wells Township from May 14, 1885 and June 18, 1885. I always assumed there may have been some issues that were not in the scrapbook. Interestingly, the June 18, 1885 installment contains information on two of my ancestors David Corey and Dunning Killgore. As for South Creek Township the installment dated October 29, 1885 on Joyce's website is not correct (it is incorrect in the scrabook collection and thus the error on the website) and that installment is actually November 5, 1885 and begins with "William Thompson, a Scotch-Irishman . . ." The actual October 29, 1885 article that is not on Joyce's website covers the Jones, Gillett, Dunning, Inman, Williams, and other families. There could be missing installments for Columbia Township, however the 1884 newspapers that contained those articles have not survived to be microfilmed so we are lucky to have the scrapbook articles. Many other townships were also covered and these are a wealth of information because many times the children and grandchildren of those early settlers were still living and supplied information. The Zephaniah Knapp family of Wells Township is quite well documented, however I still learned new information on this family from one of the articles today. I will try to get these typed up soon and sent off to Joyce. For Wells Township researchers I also did two more assessment lists, 1835 and 1836. J. Kelsey Jones
