To answer Pat Raymonds request and for any other interested parties the Barclay mountain tour is this Sunday 11:00 starting on Rt 154 in Wheelerville. Wheelerville is on Rt 154 south of Canton. The tour starts at the Game lands parking area at the top of the hill just north(before) of Wheelerville. It is a self guided tour. Points of interest are marked with numbers which are described on a handout provided at the beginning of the tour. The tour goes from Wheelerville along the old CCC road to Sunfish Pond, Carbon Run, Barclay, and Long Valley. The tour ends on Weston Road a few miles south of Powell. Sunfish Pond is a good place to stop for a picnic lunch. Points of interest include the barclay cemetery, coal mine entrances, abandoned town sites, etc. The forecast calls for great weather and the colors should be a little further along at the higher elevations of Barclay Mountain.
