I guess my grandfather used to have an old saying regarding something to the effect that if you wanted to keep apples over the winter you had to pick them before the September sun got on them. My Aunt Eloise told me the saying last year and I stupidly did not write it down. She passed away in October at the age of 92. Does anybody have any ideas what the saying might be?
