Hi All Friends and Guests of <A HREF=" http://www.rootsweb.com/~srgp/jmtindex.htm ">Tri-Counties Genealogy & History Sites of Joyce M. Tice</A> I am continuing to format and upload more of the school souvenir booklets. Several new ones have come in in the past few days. If you are scanning any please scan at 200 dpi and save as jpgs. That is more resolution than I need, but it is easier to reduce than expand. If resolution is too low, I have to type in the names so you can read them and that can be time consuming. So far we have about 95 but I KNOW there are HUNDREDS more out there. For any of you who are local, consider visiting some of the older people in your area to see if they have any hidden in their attics that they would loan to us for scanning. Every day these are being thrown out as the older people die and someone with no appreciation for them tosses them to the trash. They are not only attractive mementos, but they also are valuable to the genealogist in locating families, especially when they moved around a lot between censuses. These census books are common in PA but much less so in NY. If you can't scan yourself, you can mail them to me and I can scan them and return them to you. I'd really like to see a concentrated effort to scare some more of these out of their long term storage and out where we can all see them. Photos and postcards of schools are also welcome, particularly the old one room schools that have gone by the wayside. Thanks for any help. Joyce M. Tice
