    3. Ken, I have no specific knowledge of the incident. However, if a women enters a catholic religious order she must spend several years, possibly 3 or 4, at the mother house being educated before she takes her final vows. She would not have gone directly into a convent in Elmira. The two most likely orders locally would havbe been the Sisters of Mercy or of St. Joseph. Both of their mother houses were and are today are located in Rochester, NY. Another possibility is the cloistered nuns of St Dominic of which there is a monastery(convent) here, and has ben since 1944. In this case she would have gone directly into this monastary and remained there for life. The Dominican monastery is located 1310 W. Church St. and the zip is 14905.
