Ten or fifteen years ago I purchased this bible at an auction of the above estate. The bible has no date, but the earliest inscription is found on a bound in marriage certificate for Aron Sheets and Rachael Henderson dated April 1, 1858 in Avoca, Steuben County, NY. It contains many other records all of which date from 1900 to the 1950s. However, there are a few from the late 1800s. The surnames include Lovell, McNeil, Fairbanks(Canton, Pa.), Shults, French, Barrett, Magdaline, and Campbell. I will respond to any inquiries and the bible is free to anyone wanting to pick it up here in Elmira. It is a large bible with fancy metal clasps, the spine is damaged and the covers are loose.
