The frequency of Digest messages from the Tri-Counties mail list, and all other mail lists housed at Rootsweb, is neither daily nor weekly.  It is controlled by the number of messages, so will vary with activity on the mail list. That is the way the controls are designed - by number of messages, not by time intervals.  The no. of messages frequency I have it set for has been working for the five or so years we have had the mail list and I see no reason to change it. I would remind digest subscribers to be sure they are responding to the original sender of a message rather than to the mail list as defaulted.
