This list and the Tri-Counties website are both for sharing. Sharing by definition is giving. If it is truly a gift, it is unconditional. I think it is a tragic mistake to publicly rebuke people for "misusing" the list because they do not check the website out first. The vast majority of list members having only a passing interest in genealogy. However, they are often the very ones with new, unpublished information. Those lost links we have been researching for an eternity frequently arrive being carried by one of these unknowledgeable but well-meaning creatures we call novices. Please let's not discourage these people bearing gifts from the outside just because they are unfamiliar with the lists and websites. Rather, let's encourage them by telling them where they might find answers without so much fanfare. If we do this they may decide to stay and become givers as well. I have been on this list more than five years and have never felt the need to unsubscribe because there are too many queries that don't interest me. Ray Justus Chandler, Arizona
